New Lampworking Toy...er...Tool

Buying a new tool is always so much fun for me. I'll research it for weeks, trying to justify the money I'll be spending on it. I look at other artists' work to see what they've done using that tool, trying to think of how I would put my own spin on it. I order it and hound the poor mail carrier. It finally arrives and it's like Christmas!

This month I bought myself an Ameritool Flat Lap machine. I love it! With this tool, I can create windows into the core of my lampwork beads. Here's a few examples

  1. Lovely beads! I've always liked that effect. For those of us still pondering the possibilities of a lapidary wheel, are there any questions you wish you had asked beforehand, or things you've had to learn the hard way with the lap machine that are worth passing on?

  2. Thank you so much. I really haven't had any difficulties with mine. It's pretty straightforward and I did find some step by step tutorials online that gave me all the info I needed.

It'd be nice to see what else I can do with this machine, but I'm sure I'll find out soon :)
